To: Ted Landreth <landrethassociates@gmail.com>

Thanks, Ted. Where is a good location for you to meet? Our office is near La Jolla Ave/Wilshire Blvd. I wasn't sure
where you'd be at that day.

You can try Nikki, but honestly, until Maya herself contacts the Case Worker, then we are stuck. They mentioned that she
needs to work with them more on this. That's all they could tell me.

can't Maya live with her common law husband, with whom she has lived, in the street and
off, for all of seven years.

Please -- please -- have another go at this first thing tomorrow, if we have to pay to keep

This is part of the overall nonsense.

HACLA can change the voucher all by
themselves. Maya had an appointment

to see the outside caseworker this AM, but when she got there he had left town

for a week. If this was intentional

punishment instead of enthusiastic

help, it couldn't be worse. Too bad

a caring journalist hasn't followed

Maya at HACLA since the beginning

NEARLY FOUR MONTHS AGO.

ted landreth <landrethassociates@gmail.com> Fri, Jun 10, 2016 at 10:05 AM

To: John Darnell <john.darnell@lacity.org>

Dear John,

I hope we're still on for coffee at 9:30AM Wednesday, June 23rd. I'd suggest we meet at Paper or Plastik on the south
side of Pico just east of Fairfax, but if that's too far afield for you, please just name another place, and I'll be there. I am
very much looking forward to it, and I'll bring you your copy of the book.

We fought Kelly Su of HACLA to a standstill last week, and she is still resistant to changing Maya's voucher to add
Jeromy to it without - get this - conducting a criminal background check, which she said would take another two weeks.

Just between us, we have advised Jeromy to move into the apartment now - which the landlord says is OK. If anybody
asks what he's doing there, we might just take the matter to Federal Court. (Just kidding.) I have a copy of the book for
Kelly Su, too, but I seriously doubt that I will have an occasion to give it to her.

As ever,

To whom it may concern,

my name is Alexander Polinsky and I have resided at 758 N. Sycamore for 35 years. I personally spearheaded the

last move to have dialogue with the greater West Hollywood food collision and after months of work and even

advising, Bonge personally we have gotten nowhere. The leader of the GWHFC organization intimidated us,

threatened lawsuits and out right lied. For the last 20 years, The greater West Hollywood food coalition have attracted

an extremely bizarre, unsanitary and unsafe nightly mob to this otherwise peaceful neighborhood. I do not wish to

fight with them and in truth no one can fight with them because they possess the power of human sympathy and no

one will argue with another person who is handing food to hungry person. My wish is that we force this organization

move to different locations around the city every night so that we can give this neighborhood a rest from;

the drugs

the craziness

the nudity

the defecation

the drug use

and the squatting

I implore you to use your power to draft a law that states.... free food giveaways cannot be placed in close proximity to
homes and families and allowed to exist there every night of the week... Especially without any bathrooms, security or
sanitation.

If we let this exist what I have observed is the "watering hole effect" that is: when you bring supplies to one place
every night... a town develops around that service and as there are no places for these people to be... they end up
squatting in our bushes, under the crawlspaces in our homes and on the street where they exist there indefinitely
because the food line allows them just enough comfort to stay alive.

It's not so much a service as it is purgatory. Directly from the mouths of people who used to frequent the line I have

heard things like: "they give you just enough so you come back the next day and the next day, and you never feel
motivated to do anything else with your life"

Most of these people are mentally disabled or have some sort of mental illness and because this neighborhood
resides on the barrier of multiple districts the police do almost nothing to help us. Citing one specific occasion: A huge
naked man turned up on my front lawn, I called the police as he was writhing around around in a drugged state and
when the police arrived they told me (since he had his pants back on) they could do nothing and that it was my
responsibility to make a citizens arrest. I have had people shooting up and using my bushes as a drug den and a
toilet. I have also had trash and paper plates thrown on my property almost daily because there are no trash cans.

I live two blocks from the food line and every day at 5 o’clock I start seeing them migrating up to the line. Frequently
they are drinking beer or smoking marijuana or worse on their walk and have a little care or respect for the
neighborhoods in which they pass through.

I know that everyone in the city must deal with a little bit of weirdness because of our close proximity but because of
the greater West Hollywood food coalition we have a high concentration of insanity in this little 4 block area. I am an
actor in television and movies currently with two shows on nickelodeon I have a hit song on the charts right now and I
am willing and able to organize my community again like I did a couple of years ago. We feel ignored and unserved by
our local government in regard to this issue it is been a source of pain, fear and mayhem for years. Hungry people
must be fed but we must consider the life quality of the people around those feed lines and make rules so the
neighborhoods are not adversely affected by the concentration of souls that those lines attract.

Thank you,

Alexander Polinsky
